GABTIP – “Good As Being There In Person”
Zoom Meeting Hosting and Facilitation; Video Production; Live Streaming on YouTube and Facebook Live
What is GABTIP?
GABTIP is a service that helps people connect to each other using Zoom or live streaming when meeting in person is not an option.
How can GABTIP help me?
Most people are familiar with services like FaceTime or Skype and can video conference with one other person using their mobile device or laptop, but what if you have a group that needs to connect?
GABTIP can set up, host, and even facilitate Zoom Meetings and Webinars of all sizes. We work with individuals and corporations with audience sizes of 2 to 10,000. We also provide video production services and live streaming.
What kinds of meetings or events can you help with?
Pretty much any meeting or event can be converted into an online experience. We have hosted weddings, funerals, church events, fundraisers, and other events. One-way live streams are easily accomplished with Facebook or YouTube, but two-way conversations can be more effective and that’s where our extensive experience can really help out.
Who started GABTIP?
My name is Rick Tuel. I have over 40 years of television production experience and have produced events for over 25 years. I helped roll out WebEx and Zoom at Walmart as a Technical Expert on the Collaboration Engineering team and was the lead webcast support engineer for many of Walmart’s largest and most critical events. I can’t know for sure, but at one point I may have been the largest Zoom user in the world based on participant minutes since I hosted a lot of very large meetings and webinars.
Why did you start GABTIP?
My Dad was a college professor. When he died in 2018, after a good long life, my family and I wanted to include his friends and former students in a Celebration of Life. We were spread out all over the country and gathering in person would have been very expensive and most people would not have been able to participate. We decided to celebrate online. I set up a Zoom Webinar and we live-streamed it on Facebook on what would have been his 87th birthday. We had about 20 live attendees and were able to share pictures and stories and truly celebrate a great man’s life. It was very special. There were a lot of meaningful comments and all of it was recorded so those who were not able to attend live could watch later. At last check the Facebook video had well over 300 views!
It occurred to me that this could be a very valuable service that could help when families and friends are often not close in proximity and travel is either too expensive or not practical. As one of the top users of Zoom in the world, I knew I could help those who didn’t know how to use it and relieve them of a burden during a stressful time when their minds would be on much more important things. That is my goal.
Where did the name GABTIP come from?
While gathering together face-to-face is almost always the preferred option, it’s not always possible. What’s as good as being there in person? GABTIP! Good As Being There In Person!
Is it REALLY as good as being there in person?
Well … no. But the acronym for “Almost As Good As Being There In Person” is AAGABTIP. Let’s be honest, that’s just not as easy to spell or say. A truly descriptive statement might be something like, “A Great Alternative When You Can’t Be There In Person”. AGAWYCBTIP. That’s just awkward.
What does the cute little bee have to do with GABTIP?
Early in the development of this service I was reading Proverbs during my morning devotional and this verse jumped out at me:
“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” (Proverbs 16:24)
It perfectly described the good feelings we all had when talking about my Dad during his Celebration of Life and the closure we all felt.
Sweet and Healing.
I thought that a honeycomb should somehow be incorporated in the logo, but I never could come up with something creative. A friend suggested making a bee as our mascot, so I drew the one that is part of the logo now. I call him “Gabbee”.
Do you host corporate events?
Absolutely! We can support just about any event that has a remote audience that needs to participate. Typically, corporate customers already use services for staging and AV production, but adding a remote audience isn’t that common yet. That’s where GABTIP can help. We also can provide onsite AV production so contact us wherever you are in your planning and we’ll get you started or get you over the finish line.
How do I use your service?
GABTIP is dedicated to extremely high customer service. Every event we support is customized to the individual client.
